Blog EntryDogmatism Can be a Lot of BULL May 4, '08 1:55 PM
for everyone
I've said it before. I have no penchant for religion. Religion is an assortment of usually unreasonable dogmas which usually are archaic anyway. I recall those stupid Catholic arguments of "olde" on such inane issues as "how many angels can fit on top of a pin?". Had it not been for the Christian Reformation, there would have been no difference between Christianity and Islam today.

I do not SEE religion as something close to Jesus Christ who was NOT religious. If I remember right, the MAIN people Jesus UPSET a LOT were the religious leaders of his day, NOT the Samaritan woman or the drunkards. If I furthur recall, the same Jesus who said "Love one another" ALSO showed he was UPSET when Herod MURDERED John de Baptist. He didn't say "Find the love in your heart to forgive Herod, after all, John is in heaven and Herod NEEDS LOVE".

I was going over some blogs here and I find most religious blog frankly, hilarious. There is ONE that actually lists 613 Commandments that CHRISTIANS should follow. I found it so humorous that I had to wish that person "Good Luck!".Then there are blogs that claim to be Christian blogs that just HAVE TO use Jewish names of God. It makes me wonder WHY when most of these people are NOT Jews and if the INTENTION is for one to preach the gospel, then it MUST be understood by "ordinary people" -- or else, that would be a vain attempt at NOTHING. REALLY.

Worst are non-Jews who INSIST that they talk like Jews. Such an attempt divides Christians because we all know that Jesus is Jesus. Most of us are educated by our parents and teachers and we learn that the name of Jesus is Jesus. If we were born in Israel, we would probably know that the name of Jesus is "Yeshua". CLEAR? It does not make one a LOT more "righteous" to talk in either or ANY language. Jesus doesn't care if you call His name in the Arabic language as long as you mean it in your heart.

The difference between "religion" and dogma are these petty things that makes my favorite Wiccan "Whispr" SEEM a lot more gentle than some self-proclaimed religious nuts who make EVERYTHING an issue - even Bacon!

And no, I don't love everybody. The truth is that NO ONE loves everybody anyway. That isn't possible. Everybody had her/his own personal choices and ones preference over another. We all have best friends and favorites. I, for instance, can say in all honesty that I do not love everybody. Love is so "personal" that it cannot be demanded NOR can anyone demand that I love anyone. I don't think that Jesus was in a "loving mood" when He heard that Herod murdered John the Baptist.

In short, religion is the vain attempt of humans to reach an unreachable God. A relationship woth Jesus is God reaching to save man (by grace) through Jesus'  torture, death and ressurrection. To accept that is NOT religion, but having faith.

Thus, no one is REALLY better than another when it comes to matters of faith and grace. Whether we rise or fall, we do so by the grace of God. It has NOTHING to with us and everything to do with HIM.

Besides, if we should love everybody why should we NOT love Wiccans, homosexuals, transexuals too? Or does the "love" only extend to murderering terrorists? Just asking:)
Or are we too dogmatic to call MY WICCAN and HOMOSEXUAL and TRANSEXUAL friends(I do have them in my network)  an "abdomination" still and yet demand that I love terrorists? Isn't that incredibly STUPID?????

Organized religion and structured religious beliefs are responsible for more deaths and tragedies that any other scourge in the history of the entire world...many times over.

I believe in God and Jesus Christ. HOWEVER, I truely believe they do NOT condone the behaviour of the islamic jihadists growing in population . Nor would they condone the biggotry and hypocracy of the various sects of Christianity. Some of them are nearly as mad as the jihadists.

I guess it ain't subject I choose to discuss at great length.

Good blog, Bugsey. Went to church today and the sermon was about God's grace. We are saved by grace alone, not by works. Pastor talked about the Judaizers (sp) and how they adorned themselves and didn't adorn the Word, in the book of Titus. I see too many people here on Multiply who adorn themselves with (words)..and do not point toward Jesus. Just themselves. note: Pharisees. I wrote a blog about the Pharisees, and I may now write one about grace. It is unmerited, unearned, it's God's grace. No matter what you choose to call Jesus, he is Jesus our Lord.

I use to be a Judaizer, bugsey. I was so much into 'religion' it wasn't funny at all.
I spent a few years in the Messianic/Two House/Sacred Name... you name it... movement and when I finally came out of it the relief was wonderful!
This sacred name thing is one of the most insidious and disgusting of all. It got to the point I felt bad about owning a Mazda car... yes, in the OT is says you should not mention the names of any gods who are not God Himself.. and then the Jews don't even say God's name out of reverence. To say the word 'Jesus' is considered pagan. What a joke!! Jesus comes from the Greek, Iesous, then into the Latin which is near the same, then into English, which is Jesus, of course... but no.. they think it comes from the god, Zeus. It's so twisted and the result is it gets you twisted up inside. I had a book written by some people in South Africa... I forget the name of it.. it got me so twisted up that one day I stood at the trash bin and renounced it in Jesus name while tearing it up... whew!
When I threw off all that 'stuff' I finally found the freedom in Christ Jesus I had missed for so long. It was for freedom that Christ has set you free... don't be yoked to a belief system that is dead in God's eyes. The Old Covenant is just that... Old. It is the ministry of death. The new has come.
Just a word about 'religion'... we musn't think we are entirely free of religion because we don't go to a 'religious' type church. We will never be completely free of religion as long as we live. It's in all of us... that pharisaical spirit is within us all to one extent or another.
I understand how it feels to be in bondage to the Judaizing spirit, so my prayer is that whoever is involved will be brought out of it by love that is shown in our actions not just our words.
Jesus died for ALL, so we should respect and appreciate all people.. drunkards and homosexuals.. and even Judaizers... while not tolerating them forcing their beliefs on us (at the same time we shouldn't force our beliefs onto others either).
Thanks for you blog, bugsey.. another good one! Peace to you and yours...

There are certain times when it is needfull to translate the ENGLISH 1611KJV back into the original Hebrew, Greek and Latin and at some points even the Chaldean tounge. It can be very instructive for biblical students or those who are seeking a clearer understanding of the Word.
It's done mostly to be absolutely clear in the translation into english. The scibes of King James did a very good job but some things were missed and over the years deliberate errors have crept in.

That said, you're spot on target about religius dogma. Dogma is a tool used by men to take advantage of the biblicly illiterate. Never take the word of another man when it comes to understanding Gods Word. Use those lil grey cells he blessed you with and check it out for yourself.

Peace out all y'all :-D

I know cases like these that have written me in private which is why I am glad that you honestly came out with your first hand account. Once, I typed "yah"(yes) and some nut told me :" That's the name of Yahweh".I think that was pretty extreme !
There are some Messianic Jews, I have recently found out, who are NOT at all genuine believers of the grace gospel. There are good ones however who have a sense of reality, decency and genuine love for Jesus no matter what we call Him.
The danger however is that when one adopts the whole archaic "law", it becomes LIKE Islam. E.G --you can't eat bacon; you can't say anything that may be closely related to God (even if you don't know); you probably can't name your Teddy Bear "yahyah" or something like that. You can't call Jesus, Jesus which is the name in my heart...etcetera, etcetera!
I must say that such is a DOGMA cult and not all Jewish Christians are as insane. I also must say I agree that a "dead" cult can only produce zombies and a lot of boring humorless people.
The best part you wrote is this : "The new has come!"

Let's choose life, not death!

Hey, I hope you dont mind me commenting on your blog... I loved it by the way... Jesus was born on the 25 Dec... Apparentley that is when the 3 stars of orions belt line up with the "brightest star in the east". The three wise men following the brightest star?

On Jesus's death in the northern hemisphere when the sun is at its lowest angle or place on the horison, it was perceived to set in the exact same position, only after the 4rd day is the sun resurrected... which is the resurrection... Dead for 3 days, resurrected on the fourth... Some parts of the bible are astronomy... thats not to say jesus doesn't or didn't exist... but the trends can be found in most religions, born of a virgin, 3 wise men, star in the east... death and resurrection...

I agree with everything else you said, and I do definitely believe in God, miracles occur in my life on a regular basis and the Devine does heal...

Regarding some of your friends I would recommend going on a spiritual regression if possible... it will bring alot of peace and understanding of the war that rages inside some of them... and has been for years... There is healing for them as well if they know someone that is connected with the divines grace... the devine created us, the devine can heal us... and in that healing one will find a true rebirth... Be free from the war and jack in the boxes that constantely fight their true identity inside their soul and subconscious... Gods best bread is cooked in hells kitchen after all...

Bless You!
*H*

PS Regarding the terrorists, one only has to look at our own governements and what they have done to us, and how they have lied to us, through religion, through education, the media, etc... it really is sick... Get the full DVD on that Zeigheist on my movie review... it may just break your heart...

Oh I have that. In fact you can watch that free. I do not have a penchant for conspiracy theories (the first part) and the part about Jesus = Horus wasn't that "impressive" when I did independent research on it.
Thanks anyway and you're welcome anytime to say anything!

Hi bugsy,i have learnt more about the grace of God outside the box then when i was in it.God's way's are passed finding out. When a person for whom christ tasted of death forHeb2v9.See's God's view and oppinion of them in christ. They will come to the rest God promised us we would come to.Free from the dead work's of the law.For the law was given to bring us to the knowledge of our condition, and it was given for a man to judge himself by,not another. And when the law is fully preached and taught as Jesus taught it.It become's the ministration of death to that person. So that he would be lead to christ and his gift of redemption and salvation. Not many people know that the apostal's had a great debate about the gospel. And that vPaul in the book of galatian's said that the apostal's where preaching another gospel that it was not a gospel at all.Paul told them that if they tryed to add just one law and that of circumcission, they had fallen from grace. So my question is?Was the law abolished as paul taught?in 2cor3.And if the law is still in effect over people, christ died in vain.
Grace and peace bugsy

Bugsy what do you think of this picture? I am not American but if the people who fight for other peoples freedom are fighting against and race and religion that they hate, what is the point? Why not leave them in peace?

Please take a look and let me know your thoughts... im really really upset about this...but maybe I need an objective opion...

God Bless...

I am not upset about it because I believe in freedom of expression:) Also, so many people are so easily "offended" and it comes to a point when one has to be "careful" about everything. I am too sick of political correctness and there are worst crimes done by the other side :)
heidivolmer wrote on May 8
I also believe in freedom of expression, but if that is what his thinking is, why go "help" these people in the first place... I know there real reason is oil and to boost the american economy but photo's like that can cause a lot of hatred... and with freedom of expression comes responsibility... If not what you are saying is that racism, is acceptable... and if it is acceptable why fight it? Why fight the Hitlers of the world? Surely that was also his freedom of expression? Im not american, im a white south african who grew up with racism as a child, I was told all these bad things about black people, and when I had to go to a mixed school after apartheid was gone... it was scary for me... It took me along time to adjust and get to know my black brothers and sisters and there culture... which is very different, but once I did, I felt comfortable with it... I have many black friends and I know they too would be offended by this "arrogance" portrayed in the picture... and we wonder why we land up with situations like Zimbabwe... Its easy to fuel a fire, it hard to put it out in ones heart though... Freedom = Responsibility.

Thank you for sharing though, I really do appreciate your opinion and taking the time to express it....

Blessings and have a wonderful day...

I know that person who put up that picture and I can assure you that he is not on a war-freaking binge. He is on a personal crusade against the murders done by fanatic Islam. He is a soldier and that is something I respect. I guess if he is brave enough to fight for freedom then he has all the right to put a pic on his blog:) After all, it's his blog.
BTW, I did put something on Richard's page .... :)

I appreciate your opinion and understand your point of view... Im not a soldier ofr fighting in the war so I suppose I cant really judge... anyways we are all entitled to our own opinions like you said...

Thanks for supporting Richard... he is a dear friend to us all...
